The Malaysian Media Conference 2020 (MMC2020) is less than a month away. As we gear up for this industry exclusive gathering, what we’re most excited about is to see the kind of conversations that are going to take place after spending more than half a year in an unprecedented reality.
Our hope is that is will be honest and unfiltered, as industry players decide to not shy away from addressing the elephant or elephants in the room. Our strategy to guarantee this happen lies in the content we’ve created for this year’s conference. Everything from our choice of theme, speakers to panel sessions have been crafted to draw out the kind of conference environment our industry needs for the next decade.
One very exciting part of the conference happening on 23 October at the Sime Darby Convention Center is our first Unfiltered Panel Hour on Removing the Stumbling Blocks. This panel discussion features key representatives from three sectors – media owners, marketers and agencies, whose intricate industry linkages to each other form an ecosystem of its own.
The goal for this panel is to trigger an open discourse on the “knots” faced by three symbiotic industries and the potential synergies that could be activated by addressing these challenges.
While COVID-19 has exposed our flaws and vulnerabilities as an industry, it has created the opportunity for us to have more raw and uncensored discussions on what’s wrong and how to fix it. It’s time for our industry to have that conversation, led by a panel of experts in their own field.
The excellent group of panelists include Meera Sivasothy (General Manager, BFM), Sheila Shanmugam (Managing Director, m/SIX), Dheeraj Raina (Managing Director, Mindshare), Santharuban T. Sundaram (Chief Executive Officer, Atlas Vending) and Nicholas Sagau (Chief Product Officer, REV Media Group). The moderator with big plans to get everyone talking without filters is Sailesh Wadhwa (Chief Strategist, Edelman Malaysia).
