So how do you enter?
This year POY has made is entry submission available online. Simply head on to www.productoftheyear.com.my to enter your most innovative product launched in 2016.
Products entered should demonstrate innovation in either design, function, packaging and also should have been launched within this year.
Entered products and services are then placed into specific categories including food, beverages, personal care and household care. Upon being streamlined by our panel of experts in the retail field, the products would then be put through a nationally representative online survey of 2,000 consumers in urban area of Peninsular Malaysia by Nielsen, POY’s Research Partner.
Products judged by consumers in the online survey will be evaluated according to three key factors which include attractiveness, innovation and satisfaction.
Winning products will be announced at an awards ceremony in June 2017 and will receive the right to use the red POY seal in their marketing and communication activities for the subsequent one year.

However, POY is not only about winning, the awards also serves as a learning platform for both the shortlisted and winning brands as participating brands will receive a category report on how well their product scored among Malaysian consumers.
The detailed report would carry the breakdown of how they scored in each category along with an analysis of the contributing factors which lead to the decisions made by the consumers.
