Scoot, the budget airline from Singapore Airlines is running a promotion in Singapore called ‘The Yellow Converter’. Held at the Wisma Atria mall from October 18 to October 20, it involves rewarding people who bring in yellow coloured items with free tickets, discount vouchers ranging from S$10 to S$50 and merchandise.
A post on Scoot’s Facebook page said: “We rate yellow so much that we’re now declaring it a currency – which you can use to pay for flights.”
Items eligible for ‘The Yellow Converter’ include clothing, travel accessories and quirky or surprising objects – all in yellow. Preference will be given to shades of yellow most similar to that used by Scoot.
On its Facebook page, Scoot said: “The more yellow you surprise us with, the more flight discounts you get”, adding that the promotion was on for as long as stocks last.
Scoot CEO Lee Lik Hsin said: “As an airline that is passionate about making travel attainable for all, we challenge you to come dressed in your most yellow outfit at The Yellow Converter this weekend, where the more yellow you have on, the more ‘currency’ you stand to gain to pay for your Scoot flights.
“I hope you will have fun and use this opportunity to further embrace the full potential of travelling.”
