Ad goes viral on a shoestring budget

PDRM Perak(marketingmagazine.com.my) – PDRM has recently come into the spotlight for a Hari Raya ad its taskforce produced in Perak.

The Festive ad titled ‘Nak Raya, Kami Jaga’ starts off with a scene typical in many festive ads with a policeman receiving a call from his child calling to ask why he was not coming home for Hari Raya.Things however quickly take a turn to a more light-hearted note where the PDRM Perak taskforce belt out a catchy rock number on why they will be working during the Raya season.

The catchy tune and antics of the police officers in the ad had captured the hearts of netizens with the Raya ad, receiving over 1,000 likes and over 4,000 shares on Facebook.

Online news site, Cilisos spoke the founder of Pandatechstudio Malaysia, Koperal Nazaril Erzad bin Mohd Najib, the production house behind the ad. A policeman by day and filmmaker by night, Nazarli shared in the interview why they shot the ad,

“The first reason is to bring a public message, to make sure they feel comfortable with us, to make sure they feel safe. In BM we say, ‘You mau balik, balik, kami jaga rumah’.” Nazaril told Chilisos.

According to Nazaril the entire production cost of the ad, which came from PDRM Perak’s budget, was kept below RM3,000 as they managed to cut corners by using Pandatechstudio’s equipment and real policemen instead of actors.
