(Marketingmagazine.com.my) – The trading of products and services on the Internet has become popular and accepted worldwide in this digital age. Malaysia is no exception, as more locals turn to this means of getting what they want.
To meet the growing needs of the local e-commerce industry, Pos Malaysia has launched its first e-Commerce Hub at the Pos Malaysia headquarters in Kuala Lumpur.
Pos Malaysia Group chief executive officer Datuk Mohd Shukrie Mohd Salleh said the revenue of Pos Laju courier services increased between 15% and 20% every year, adding that it was mostly used for e-commerce purposes.
Serving as one of the group’s transformation strategies, the e-Commerce Hub will provide greater access to Pos Malaysia’s local and international logistics capabilities, infrastructure and delivery networks.
The hub provides various services such as kiosks offering various Pos Laju products and services, parcel lockers, prepaid dropbox and an Application Programming Interface (API).
The API is an advanced and innovative automation service that helps marketplaces and merchants to transact e-commerce faster while improving consumer satisfaction from the point of purchase to the point of delivery.
Commenting on the launch, Datuk Shukrie told Marketing Magazine:
“ eCommerce business has been our long-standing strategy and potential growth trajectory in our pursuit to build new capabilities and strengthen our revenue stream.”
The eCommerce hub is our commitment to spur the growth of eCommerce as a whole by providing access to facilities and knowledge that the eCommerce community could take advantage of, especially by merchants from rural areas. We are driven by long term ecommerce goals and the eCommerce hub is one of our first steps towards that goal. We have many more initiatives that are geared towards these goals.
“The eCommerce hub in particular is an effort to bring Pos Malaysia’s customers to a point of convergence between the power of the internet and our physical touch points while opening up greater access to logistics and fulfilments capabilities through infrastructure, delivery networks and eCommerce solutions.”
