Retail textile store Jakel Trading and jewellery franchise Habib Jewels Sdn Bhd are among 41 individuals, organisations and business entities named by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) in its forfeiture applications to recover some RM270 million said to be transferred from the account of former prime minister Najib Razak.
The bulk of the money totalling RM212 million went to Umno divisions and branches.
Other recipients include right-wing group Pertubuhan Kebajikan Dakwah Islamiah Malaysia or Pekida, which made the news several times over its threats and allegations against opposition leaders prior to the general election last year.
Interestingly, some media companies are also in the list and more information will follow.
