It was reported recently that VJ Anand was exiting Gojek. Marketing Magazine managed to get VJ on the line and probe further.
In an exclusive for the publication, he went on to explain that he is still in the midst of finishing up some projects and that he will also be assisting GoJek in finding a replacement for his role before he leaves the establishment by the end of November.
“I’ll be also taking a break before getting into a new role,” he added. He will reveal his future plans in due course, but for now he is focused on ensuring all remaining projects are finished off well and that the handing over process is done to best of his ability.
It has been reported by industry press that VJ grew the internal creative team at Gojek to about 120 people, which handled over 19 products and content that attracted up to four million views per day.
VJ Anand was always a trailblazer, and left his indelible signature in agencies such as BBDO, TBWA, Cheil and Ogilvy. During his tenure with Gojek, the standout publicity stunt where Gojek suprised Indonesian rapper Rich Brian with his favourite Indonesian dishes delivered to his doorstep in New York was definitely memorable for its uniqueness.
Gojek has recently undergone a re-branding exercise with a new focus on being Southeast Asia’s leading Super App. The company also revealed an in-app content team to create branded content on Gojek’s Indonesia app. VJ Anand was also instrumental in ensuring the marketing team in Thailand and Singapore knew how to kick off the launches in these markets as well.
Stay tuned to Marketing Magazine for updates on VJ Anand as he continues to trailblaze his way in the marketplace.
