May Ling is On for Yangon!

 

Chan May Ling, Head of Marketing Services at Digi Telecommunications, is moving to Telenor Myanmar as Vice President & Head of Brand starting March 15 in Yangon. 

Myanmar Post and Telecommunications (MPT) is the main mobile player with Qatar’s Ooredoo and Norway’s Telenor. In April last year, Vietnamese military-owned group Viette secured the nation’s fourth mobile licence. Ericsson has a five-year contract with Telenor Group for the design and implementation of 4G LTE networks having carried out tests of 4G technology in five major cities for Telenor Myanmar.  

Professing to ‘enjoy working in chaos’, May Ling is the current Vice President of the Malaysian Advertisers Association and is serving her second term. She was also the Organizing Chairman for the 2015 Malaysian EFFIE awards. 

May Ling, who has over 19 years of experience in branding, marketing, communications and advertising, started her career with McCann Erickson and Saatchi & Saatchi, and has spent almost 10 years at Digi.  

She also been a jury member for several local and regional marketing effectiveness awards (APAC EFFIE, APPIES, WARC Asian Strategy, Malaysian EFFIEs awards and MMA), panelist and speaker in a few conferences.
