Jaz Lee returns to Leo Malaysia as Executive Creative Director

In a strategic return to his creative roots, Jaz Lee has stepped away from Ogilvy Malaysia to take on the role of Executive Creative Director at Leo Constellation, Southeast Asia, where he’ll spearhead Samsung’s cross-regional marketing narrative

Lee’s return is more than a career move — it’s a homecoming. He began his advertising at Leo Burnett as a junior copywriter a decade ago, advancing through the ranks to Creative Group Head and Associate Creative Director. His return now cements a full-circle moment.

“It feels good to be back where it all started for me. This place gave me my start, taught me everything I know, and shaped who I am as a creative. Now I get to give back by building on the agency’s success and helping write its next chapter,” he shares with MARKETING Magazine.

Lee leaves behind a meteoric five-and-a-half-year tenure at Ogilvy, where he was fast-tracked from a 24-year-old Creative Director to Executive Creative Director.

His impressive award-winning campaign portfolio includes “Emoji-Nation” for Guinness, “Flags of Generosity” for Cadbury Dairy Milk, “The Calorie Absorber Pro” for Scotts, “Gamer Asylum” for Artotel, and “Bau siapa ni?” for Scentify x Enchanteur.

Apart from accolades for his work, Lee’s creative prowess has been featured in Forbes Asia’s 30 Under 30 (Media, Marketing & Advertising) in 2021, and in Tatler Asia’s Most Influential list in 2022.

His return to Leo comes on the heels of a structural refresh at Publicis Groupe. Earlier this year, Leo Burnett merged with Publicis Worldwide to form simply “Leo”, a move aligned with the Groupe’s push for “outsized creativity” to deliver transformative, connected brand experiences at scale.

In his new capacity, Lee will split his time between Malaysia and Vietnam, collaboratively driving Leo’s creative direction for Samsung throughout the region.

He reports to Emir Shafri, Chief Creative Officer at Publicis Groupe Malaysia, and will also work closely with Paolo Garcia, Chief Creative Officer of Publicis Groupe Vietnam, as well as Firzan Mulafer, Managing Director at Publicis Communications Malaysia.
