GO Communications has been appointed to manage PR and communications duties for Food & Drinks Malaysia by SIAL 2026 (FDM 2026). The appointment marks another significant new business win for the agency, while adding one of the region’s most consequential food and beverage trade platforms to its growing portfolio.
Set to return to the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC) from 21 to 23 July 2026, the upcoming FDM edition will be the fourth staging of the exhibition in Malaysia since making its debut in 2023.
Through their appointment, GO Communications will be tasked with helping shape the narrative beyond the exhibition’s commercial muscle, but its broader role as a global mecca for taste, trade, talent and innovation in one of the world’s most food-obsessed regions.
The appointment places GO Communications at the heart of a world-class B2B event with deep international roots. FDM is part of the wider SIAL (Salon International de l’Alimentation) Network headquartered in Paris, making it one of the world’s leading food innovation networks, with over 60 years of history.
Since its inception here, Food & Drinks Malaysia by SIAL has quickly established itself as a strategic marketplace for suppliers, buyers and decision-makers across ASEAN and beyond. The event is positioned as a catalyst for connecting global brands and buyers in one of Asia’s most dynamic food markets.
Henri Tan, Exhibition Director South East Asia of Comexposium Sdn Bhd, said the appointment of GO Communications comes at an opportune moment as the exhibition continues to expand its footprint and influence in Malaysia and across Southeast Asia.
“As we prepare for our fourth edition in Malaysia, it is important that the story of the exhibition reflects not only its scale and commercial relevance, but also its wider significance to the industry and the region.
With vast experience managing large scale events, GO Communications has the ability to combine strategic clarity with strong storytelling instincts, and we are confident they will help us articulate the value of FDM 2026 in a compelling and meaningful way,” he added.
Indeed, the appointment reflects GO Communications’ deep experience and expertise in handling communications for large-scale, multi-stakeholder events that demand both strategic discipline and compelling storytelling.
Across industries, the agency has built a strong track record with major platforms such as Defence Services Asia (DSA) and the World Congress on Innovation and Technology (WCIT). This experience positions GO well to amplify an exhibition of FDM by SIAL’s scale and stature.
“We’re naturally very excited with this appointment. Food & Drinks Malaysiais is a serious international platform with the scale, pedigree and market relevance to shape conversations, partnerships and opportunities across the food and beverage industry and beyond,” said Peter de Kretser, CEO of GO Communications.
“To be entrusted with telling that story is both a privilege and a responsibility. In Malaysia, food occupies a very special place in the national psyche, but beyond the sentiment lies a powerful economic engine, one that links producers, manufacturers, exporters, buyers, chefs, innovators and consumers. FDM 2026 captures all of that in one ecosystem, and we are excited to help bring its significance to life,” he added.
