Former Taylor’s CMO Ben Foo Appointed CEO of Woodpeckers Group

Former Taylor’s Education Group Chief Marketing Officer Ben Foo has been appointed Chief Executive Officer of Woodpeckers Group, the fast-growing F&B operator behind llaollao, ChaTraMue, Shae.co, fine dining restaurant TBC, and Paddle & Pour Café.

Ben was drawn to the group’s entrepreneurial spirit and growth ambitions, citing the founders’ boldness in bringing international brands such as llaollao and ChaTraMue into Malaysia. The opportunity to build on that foundation and lead Woodpeckers into its next phase of expansion marks a natural progression in his career.

Over two decades, Ben has held key roles at McDonald’s, F&N, Sara Lee, Johnson & Johnson, Star Radio Group, and Holiday Tours & Travel, and co-founded Cupcake Chic, a local dessert brand.

At Taylor’s Education Group, he led a transformation that doubled enrolment, expanded the university’s reach into China, Indonesia and India, and established Taylor’s as one of the region’s leading private education brands. Ben was also a winner at the Malaysian CMO Awards.

His leadership philosophy continues to be shaped by his marketing background, which centres on understanding people, anticipating needs, and building meaningful experiences.
