OMG agencies PHD and OMD rank #1 and #2 in APAC in latest RECMA Diagnostics report

Omnicom Media Group (OMG) agencies PHD and OMD have been ranked #1 and #2, respectively, in APAC in the latest edition of the highly regarded RECMA Diagnostics report. Both agency networks also achieved the highest quali-points in the region.

PHD’s ranking reflects a clear sign of momentum, jumping five notches to be crowned APAC’s best performing media network as well as taking the top spot in Vitality scores. PHD was also evaluated as ‘Dominant’ profile in New Zealand and ‘High’ profile in seven markets: Australia, China, Singapore, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Malaysia, and the Philippines.

Meanwhile, OMD has made remarkable headway, ranking #1 in Southeast Asia, Australia, and New Zealand. In APAC, OMD remained a powerhouse, securing #2 for the third consecutive year. Additionally, the agency network has been ranked #1 globally, marking the ninth consecutive edition in which OMD has topped the Diagnostics report.

Commenting on these achievements, Tony Harradine, CEO, OMG APAC, said, “These rankings reflect the strength of our talent and capabilities in APAC, powered by the Omni open operating system. By leveraging our Agency as a Platform approach, we create opportunities for growth and competitive advantage. Coupled with our best-in-class tools and technology, we remain committed to driving success for our clients, agencies, and talent.”

The bi-annual RECMA Diagnostics report is based on the evaluation of 686 agencies in 45 markets. Utilising 19 KPIs to evaluate vitality and structure, the report offers an assessment index that goes beyond typical quantitative metrics such as new business wins or billings volume alone to also consider criteria such as client portfolio and relationship stability; digital, data & content resources; and homogeneity across geographies.

Participating agencies are ranked both numerically by ‘quali-points’ and by the following profiles: Dominant, High Profile, Very Good Profile, Good Profile and Average Profile.

The report marks the latest in a streak of wins and accolades for PHD and OMD over the past year, including PHD winning ADWEEK Global Media Agency of the Year; PHD topping the COMvergence 2024 new business rankings; OMD being crowned APAC Media Network of the Year at Campaign Asia’s Agency of the Year Awards; and OMD earning the Media Network of the Year honours at Cannes.
