The Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC) has issued an open request for proposal (RFP) to appoint a new social media agency, as it looks to strengthen its digital presence and audience engagement across key platforms.

Open to Malaysian-registered agencies, the RFP calls for strategic and creative social media services that support MDEC’s broader communications objectives.

The appointed agency will be responsible for enhancing MDEC’s online visibility, driving meaningful engagement, and ensuring the consistent and timely delivery of content across its social media channels.

The RFP document has been available for purchase since 5 January 2026 at 12.00pm. A mandatory briefing session is scheduled for 8 January 2026 at 3.00pm, with access details provided via a QR code within the RFP document.

Submissions will close on 16 January 2026 at 6.00pm. Interested agencies must register and submit their proposals through MDEC’s official online tender portal at tenders.mdec.com.my.

In its announcement, MDEC encouraged all eligible agencies to attend the briefing session, noting that it will provide clarification on project scope, submission requirements, and evaluation criteria.

All queries and feedback related to the RFP will be managed via the tender portal, with further information available from Shafie Razak (shafie.razak@mdec.com.my).

The agency appointment comes as MDEC continues to sharpen its communications strategy amid an increasingly competitive digital and content landscape.
