The Dragons continue to soar over Kuala Lumpur

On Friday October 10, the Sheraton Petaling Jaya in Kuala Lumpur played host to a spectacular celebration of results-focused marketing communication excellence, as the 25th Silver Anniversary Dragons of Asia and the 13th Dragons of Malaysia Awards recognised the very best in marketing communications from across Asia, in partnership with Marketing Magazine.

It was a night where the brightest creative minds and most effective campaigns were honoured with coveted Dragon Awards of all colours, in front of a packed room of business leaders, Brand Owners, and Agency talent from all over Asia.

“The Dragons were launched in 2000 to recognise marketing communications work that, at that time, was being executed brilliantly across Asia, but largely unnoticed in the west,” said Mike Da Silva, Director & Founder. “Fast forward to today, and with over 1,500 world class campaigns awarded Dragons of all colours, that original mission continues to be fulfilled.”

This year’s competition was the most fiercely contested in the programme’s history, according to the international panel of judges. Simon Mahoney, President of Marketing Agencies Worldwide (London), commented:

Once again, the Dragons of Asia delivered an exceptional showcase of creativity and strategic thinking. This year’s judging was the toughest yet, with campaigns pushing creative & executional boundaries across every discipline. It was both a privilege and an inspiration to be involved.”

The 3 Red Dragon Award Highlights:

  • For the second consecutive year, Ampersand Advisory Malaysia took home the prestigious Red Dragon, awarded for the 2025 Agency of the Year, topping the industry rankings as the No.1 Agency in Malaysia and the No.1 Agency in Asia…a phenomenal achievement.
  • VML Malaysia wowed judges with its Check-Cup Campaign for Kopi Kenangan, earning a Gold Category Dragon, the Blue Dragon for Best Campaign in Malaysia, and the Red Dragon for Best Campaign in Asia. The campaign received a unanimous vote from the Grand Jury, a rare and resounding endorsement of the campaign’s impact in education women and men on the importance checking for breast cancer.
  • The third Red Dragon, for the Network of the Year, was awarded to the Tribes Communication Network, India.

The rising creative power of emerging markets was also on display this year. Of the Top 10 highest-scoring campaigns across Asia, an impressive four were from Pakistan, with one standout from Sri Lanka, underscoring the region’s dynamic and evolving marketing landscape.

A sincere thanks to our largest-ever judging panel from 30 countries, and to this year’s participating Agencies and Brand owners who continue to elevate the standards of our marketing communications industry, across Asia.

Here’s to the next 25 years of the Dragons… and more brilliance still to come.
