NetApp Malaysia has appointed Moti Uttam as Country Manager for Malaysia, as the company steps up efforts to support enterprises building data foundations for artificial intelligence and digital transformation.
The move comes as Malaysia accelerates its push towards becoming an AI-driven economy, with organisations increasingly investing in data infrastructure to unlock new levels of productivity and innovation.
Moti will lead NetApp’s operations in Malaysia, focusing on expanding customer and partner engagement, driving business growth and strengthening adoption of its data management and AI solutions across key sectors.
“I am honoured to take on this mantle at such a pivotal moment for Malaysia. The nation’s bold ambitions are propelling us towards an AI-driven economy, and data is at the heart of that transformation,” he said.
He added that he aims to work closely with customers and partners to help Malaysian enterprises build intelligent data infrastructure so that they can harness AI securely and at scale.
Moti brings over 25 years of experience in the technology industry, having held leadership roles at Hitachi Vantara and Dell EMC.
He was previously Chief Technology and Operations Officer of Tao Bin Malaysia, where he helped develop a cloud-based, AI- and IoT-enabled robotic retail platform.
NetApp Senior Director for ASEAN Angeline Lim said that Moti’s appointment comes at a time when Malaysia is rapidly advancing its digital economy and scaling national AI capabilities.
She added that his experience and understanding of the local market will strengthen NetApp’s role in helping organisations build data-driven capabilities aligned with national priorities.
