Jasmine Food is marking Malaysia’s National Day and Malaysia Day with a vibrant interactive mural at Jalan Kamunting, Kuala Lumpur — celebrating tradition, togetherness, and technology.
The mural illustrates familiar scenes from Malaysian life — from village kitchens to urban dining tables — with rice at the heart of it all, symbolising love, comfort, and unity across generations.
Created in collaboration with Dewan Bandaraya Kuala Lumpur (DBKL), the initiative is part of broader efforts to transform Jalan Kamunting into a cultural hotspot where food, art, and heritage converge.
“This mural project is not only meant to beautify the street, but also to invite our communities and international visitors to explore the stories, flavours, and artistry that make Malaysia truly special,” said Alan Kwong, Chief Operating Officer, Jasmine Food Corporation.
“In conjunction with the KL Car-Free Morning this Sunday, Jasmine Food will also be distributing 1,000 packs of nasi lemak to visitors. We chose nasi lemak because it is Malaysia’s iconic dish, a true reflection of our diverse and colourful culture,” he added.

Taking the experience further, the mural integrates AI and AR technology, enabling the artwork to ‘come alive’ when scanned with a smartphone. The fusion of traditional art with modern tech reflects Jasmine Food’s forward-thinking approach while staying rooted in Malaysia’s cultural heritage.
To encourage public participation, Jasmine Food is also launching a “Snap & Win” contest. Visitors can capture their most creative mural photos and share them on Facebook or Instagram with the hashtag #NasiWarisanKita. Running until December 2025, the contest offers winners free rice and coconut milk from Jasmine Food.
The mural invites Malaysians and international visitors alike to experience a celebration where heritage meets creativity and technology — and where every grain of rice tells the nation’s story.
