Darren Lee Rejoins M+C Saatchi Malaysia As Chief Creative Officer

by: @dminMM

M+C Saatchi Malaysia has appointed Darren Lee as its new chief creative officer, marking the return of a familiar leader as the agency doubles down on creativity as a core driver of business growth. Lee officially began his role on 2 January.

Lee brings more than two decades of experience across regional and global brands including Malaysia Airlines, Celcom, CIMB and Axiata. His appointment reflects the agency’s intent to position creativity not just as a functional discipline, but as a strategic capability that influences how the business thinks, collaborates and creates value for clients.

He most recently served as chief brand officer at digital asset management platform Bitazza in Bangkok, where he spent four years operating in a start-up environment. The experience strengthened his understanding of how creativity intersects with commercial realities, new growth models and the need for speed and focus — capabilities that are increasingly critical at senior creative leadership level.

Lee previously spent five and a half years at M+C Saatchi Malaysia as executive creative director and digital group creative director. His wider career includes stints at &samhoud as creative director, Naga DDB Tribal as associate creative director, AdVantage in a similar role, and Ogilvy, where he began his career as a copywriter.
