Havas Malaysia Appoints Bowie Tiong As New General Manager

Havas Malaysia has promoted business director Bowie Tiong to the role of general manager, effective January 2026. She succeeds Liew Wai Sim, who has held the position since March 2024.

Tiong joined Havas Malaysia in 2023 and has spent the past two years as business director. She brings more than a decade of agency experience, including seven years at Ogilvy, where she progressed from account manager to account director, as well as stints at Naga DDB Tribal and BRC Group.

Tiong’s elevation forms part of the agency’s succession planning and focus on leadership development, following Havas Malaysia’s 2024 rebranding, which saw the agency drop “Immerse” from its name to align more closely with the global Havas brand. The move was accompanied by an expanded leadership team, with Tiong previously appointed business director to drive client growth and new business.

Since the rebrand, Havas Malaysia has secured a number of major accounts and campaigns including the launch of PRO-NET’s Proton e.MAS 5, turning the vehicle’s launch into an interactive nationwide event. It has also rolled out Fernleaf’s latest Full Cream Milk campaign, which reimagines P. Ramlee’s iconic “Ibu” song in a contemporary tribute to motherhood, bringing a familiar melody to a new generation of consumers.
