Andreas Vogiatzakis (voh-ya-zaki) began his career at advertising agency DMB&B in New York, US and then he joined JWT in Athens, Greece before heading to Asia. In 1997, he launched and ran MediaVest Japan, later merging it with Starcom, with a short stint in between as Wieden & Kennedy's Media Director for Nike, Uniqlo and Ben & Jerry's. In 2003, Andreas moved to Taiwan as the CEO of the MindShare Group and in October 2016, he relocated to Malaysia to lead Omnicom Media Group. Later he became CEO of Havas Media Group Bhd. Since the middle of August this year Andreas has been appointed Group Chief Executive Officer of Star Media Group Bhd taking the Group into its next evolution in the digital transformation journey.

Datuk Kamal Khalid is the Group Managing Director of Media Prima Berhad since 2 August 2017. He has been with Media Prima since May 2009 and had held various positions including Chief Executive Officer, Television Networks, Chief Operating Officer, Group Shared Services and Chief Operating Officer, Business Development and International. Prior to that, he served as Head of the Communications Unit in the Prime Minister's Office for 6 years. He had also worked in the financial services sector in banking and private equity financing and at the Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange (now Bursa Malaysia). Currently, he is a member of UniKL Industry Advisory Board, Marketing Committee of Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) and sits on the Board of Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE).

Marketing plays a critical role in driving the overall business success of any business. The rewarded candidates will have shown their influence and involvement in a positive business outcome – whether its share, revenue growth or profit.

Case Study Results (30%)

We will assess Case Studies as submitted to see how the CMO has led a campaign, launch or new initiative into a true success. How is engagement and impact working together to get results.

Team Results (20%)

A top CMO will “hire giants” as David Ogilvy once said, and build a powerful marketing team that will give him/her the wings to fly. Attention will be paid to turnover and a team packed with collaborative performers.

Awards (20%)

Breakthrough marketing is far more effective than traditional marketing. We will closely study the work of leading marketers, look at recognition and awards won, and identify those that are truly taking the risks to succeed.

Entry Guidelines:

There is no entry fee for nominations. One person can be nominated for a maximum of four categories, but each submission has to be in a separate Nomination Form each time. Please note this is not a popular choice contest, each nomination per category will be considered as one submission no matter how many times the person is nominated. For duplicate submissions, the one submitted first will be accepted.

All decisions by judges are final, and with the rapid pace industry categories are evolving, judges may opt to create or modify category classifications to recognize deserving submissions.

And where the judges see fit, they may decide on Special Mention or Merit (Silver) awards if they find deserving nominees. This is in addition to the top award in the categories.

Winners will be revealed on Nov 15, 2019. The CMO Awards Evening will be held on November 15, after the Malaysian CMO Conference on the same day.
