TIME FOR DISCOVERY

Last year’s awards theme, NEXT STOP: CEO, was a success and now we wish to move the needle to the next level by motivating the marketing industry with new discoveries and inspiring energy.

This year, we empowered last year’s winners to nominate new contenders for this ultimate accolade -
the Malaysian CMO Awards 2024.

They were asked to nominate 2 people; CMOs they knew and who inspired them and they believed deserved to be worthy of a CMO award this year.

Together, we led this year's progressive theme:

CRITERIA FOR CANDIDATES

Has to be CMO or Marketing Director level, and if in a Regional marketing leadership role, must be based in Malaysia. This “pre-qualification” process ensures we cover the field fairly and with integrity. 
 
Nominee 1: Top marketing head for a company in Malaysia with annual revenues of RM50million and below.
 
Nominee 2: Top marketing head for a company in Malaysia with annual revenues above RM50million. 
 
The reason we are doing this revenue split is that we have seen many marketing leaders who have demonstrated breakthrough marketing in SMEs and SMIs.
 
 

JUDGING CRITERIA

Marketing Performance: (30%)
Campaign Objective. Campaign Strategy. Campaign Success. Campaign Uniqueness.

Business Performance: (30%)
Revenue growth, profitability. Market share, expansion. Brand equity, traction. Customer satisfaction, acquisition.


Leadership Performance: (30%)
Strategic Brand Vision. Team Building & Culture. Tech Optimisation. Growth Sustainability. ESG factors.


Popularity Performance: (10%)
Online poll with MARKETING magazine’s readers in February, based on “Marketers I’d like to work with”.

The selection process typically involves a combination of peer nominations, industry performance, and the influence these individuals have across their respective sectors, highlighting those who are making significant impacts with innovative campaigns, creative leadership, and driving growth.
