Haniff Hamzah
For most Malaysians, Haniff Hamzah is a name synonymous with early morning drives to work, as he’s 1/3 of the number one Malay-language breakfast show in Malaysia, JoHaRa.
The hilarious trio, who have been entertaining Malaysians for close to a decade, have an impressive weekly listenership of 3.5 million people tuning in to them every morning. They’ve also won numerous awards, including 5 consecutive years of dominating the ‘Fa-vourite Radio Show’ category at the Anugerah MeleTop ERA since 2014.
His 12 year career in the radio industry has equipped him with the skills needed to address serious, everyday topics and make it relatable to Malaysians, in his very own witty manner.
Haniff’s bilingual ability to easily swap between Bahasa Malaysia and English also allowed him to bridge the gap between different audiences and age groups, making him an easy favourite to host TV shows and events.
You’ve definitely heard his charming voice soothe you (and probably convince you to buy products, too!) in a number of advertisements. If you’re still wondering why his voice is so familiar, he’s also voiced characters in a number of movies, including the Malay-language version of Hollywood blockbusters like Madagascar, Despicable Me, and Smurf the Movie!
It’s hard to not like Haniff- despite his fame and years of being in the radio industry, his easy-going and down-to-earth demeanour has made him the choice for several global companies, including PUMA, Cornetto, New Balance, Cuckoo and Guardian, to name him as their ambassador.
Haniff is currently signed on with SVL TAN Management, and is working on creating con-tent for a new YouTube channel and developing his own podcast.
