FWD 4 A Cause, a digital social initiative by FWD Takaful Berhad has been launched. The initiative will donate 10% from the total contribution of wakalah* fees to selected social enterprises or non-profit organisations (NGOs) with every participation of its online Takaful plan. 

“We’re happy to be collaborating with Malaysia Medical Relief Society (MERCY Malaysia), Mental Illness Awareness and Support Association (MIASA) and Arus Education Sdn Bhd (Arus Academy) for this initiative which allows Malaysians to support a cause close to their hearts,” said FWD Takaful’s Chief Executive Officer Salim Majid Zain. “Malaysians can now sign up for an online takaful protection plan and choose amongst these three organisations they’d like us to donate to.”

NGOs and social enterprises in Malaysia have been faced with fundraising challenges due to the global COVID-19 pandemic and nation-wide Movement Control Order (MCO).

The number of volunteers who have been able to assist these organisations have also decreased to the MCO. This is why FWD Takaful has launched this initiative, to help these organisations support the communities under their purview.

*Wakalah is the contract where the participant appoints a Takaful Operator to manage the participants’ risk fund and agrees to pay the Takaful Operator on a pre-agreed basis for the services provided.
