PLUS bags four golds at the 2019 M’sia PR awards

PLUS Malaysia Berhad (PLUS), the Country’s largest toll highway company walked away with six awards from the 2019 Malaysia PR Award ceremony recently.

A first-time entrant in this national PR award, PLUS won four gold awards in the category of Technology, Employee Communications, Corporate Branding and Best Use of Digital.

PLUS also won two Silvers in the Public Sector category as well as the Best Use of Digital. The MPRA Judges this year comprised of Dato’Tengku Marina of Nestle, Anita Devasahayam of IBM, Naill Dologohan, MD of TQPR, Grace Low, former MD of Ogilvy PR and Jahabar Sadiq, Editor-in- Chief, The Malaysian Insight.

“We the judges felt that all of the PLUS entries stood out due to their strong measurement and evaluation, which demonstrated the real-world impact of their Public Relations (PR) campaigns on their target audiences.

“By undertaking proper research prior to starting their campaigns, PLUS was able to set clear communications strategies that aligned with their objectives and a starting baseline that could be benchmarked against measurable data.

“This made it easy for them to track the impact that their communications campaigns were having on their audiences. This is something that PR practitioners need to do more consistently, as it is a key element in demonstrating the return on investment that PR can provide,” said Niall Dologhan MPRA 2019 Panel Judge.

“It is encouraging to note that the measurement of our communication initiatives bore the desired results in our effort to improve public perception. At PLUS it is important for us to have realistic and tangible outcomes that impacts our highway customers.

“This award is also testament of the teamwork between the various departments within the company, thus my congratulations to the PLUS teams for such recognition from MPRA,” said Datuk Azman Ismail, Managing Director of PLUS.

“The MPRA has always been about bringing the best in Malaysia’s PR and Communications industry. MPRA 2019 recorded its highest number of entries across the 14 categories of awards, making this PRCA Malaysia flagship event the biggest ever since the inception 12 years ago. Importantly, the strong direct participation from Malaysian corporations including government-linked companies and agencies, has made this instalment of the MPRA more competitive and inclusive. I would like to
congratulate PLUS on its wins in the MPRA 2019 as it is a true recognition and celebration of the good work the team at PLUS has been doing,” said Andy See, President of the Public Relations & Communications Association of Malaysia.

PLUS Malaysia Bhd head of corporate, community and public engagement Syed Mohammed Idid told MARKETING magazine, “If there was a single key factor that lead to PLUS winning the six PR awards it is the stringent measurement that clearly justified the outcome of the campaign initiatives. It clearly depicted that we were able to target the audience accurately and were able to get our messages across successfully and as a result their response and reaction impacted positively on our brand reputation.
