No Improvement in Hiring Demand Within SEA Marketing Sector

MonsterFindBetter

(Marketingmagazine.com.my) – The demand for Advertising and Marketing professionals in Malaysia continues to witness a general downward trend, with a similar situation in both Singapore and the Philippines.

This is according to the latest round of Monster Employment Index (MEI) data for these regions. The MEI, a monthly gauge of online job hiring activity, records the industries and occupations that show the highest and lowest growth in recruitment activity.

Malaysia registered -22% decline year-over-year within the sector in February, down from -20% registered in January 2016. This is the steepest decline recorded in this sector.

Hiring trends in the sector are also consistent with the online demand for Marketing & Communications professionals, where all markets registered the negative growth. Despite this, demands in the role emerged are amongst the top growth jobs in Singapore and Malaysia.

Marketing and Communications job roles came in top in demand in Malaysia, despite registering -10% year-over-year decline.
