Earlier this month, MARKETING posted that Proton is currently in a creative pitch which had more than ten agencies competing for it.
And now Perodua is reviewing four agencies for their creative advertising business.
The incumbent agency for the Perodua account is Spin Communications who has been working on the account for seven years.
A year ago, FCB’s Ignite was appointed to handle its festive advertising. It is believed FCB pulled out of this pitch.
MARKETING understands the decision on the winning agency will be made next week.
Perodua president and CEO Datuk Dr Aminar Rashid Salleh said that Perodua is aiming for sales of 209,000 vehicles for 2018, a 2% increase from the 204,900 vehicles registered in 2017.
Perodua is said to be developing a new strategy to strengthen its position as the number one automotive player in the domestic market.
“We are taking a lot of things into consideration, rent-to-own scheme is one of them. And now a lot of car rental companies are taking from us. I see that this as one of the fields where the demand may increase,” he added.
