The giveaway certainly created buzz for the brand

What started with a reply on twitter inspired Golden Screen Cinemas (GSC) to launch a unique giveaway.
In response to GSC’s latest Twitter post promoting the launch of its largest screen at MyTown Mall Cheras, Twitter user Izza (@anothersixthgun) asked GSC how many RT or retweets did she need to get to win a year’s worth of free movie tickets.
The brand responded to Izza’s question and set the target of 10,000 RTs, which she managed to hit in 3 days.
Making good on their word, yesterday, GSC announced on its social media platforms that Izza would receive a year’s worth of free movie tickets.
Speaking to MARKETING, a representative from GSC shared that the giveaway was not planned and was only decided upon reading the winner’s reply,
“We monitored the number daily and even RT-ed her post on our page to give more exposure to her post. She hit the target yesterday, 22 May. We quickly replied her post and asked for her details so we can arrange the prize.” the GSC representative more on how they monitored the giveaway.
To date GSC’s Facebook announcement post on Izza’s win has received over 38 shares, 51 comments and 816 reactions.
