webe’s Shu Wei heads to TM

MARKETING understands that former chief marketing officer for webe Lai Shu Wei has taken on a new role at Telekom Malaysia (TM).

According to his LinkedIn update, Shu Wei will now hold the position Vice President, Mass Market Marketing Operations at TM, a role he has held for less than a month.

An industry veteran Shu Wei has held several key positions in the telecommunications industry. Prior to webe he held the CMO role for Packet One Networks, which later had been acquired by TM, and has held key marketing roles at Maxis, Standard Charted Bank, Nestle and more. 
At webe Shu Wei had kick-started the telco’s launch campaign, and other innovations including its first community crowdfunding platform. 

There have been quite a few big moves at TM this year, earlier in the year it was announced that Celcom’s numero uno, Dato’ Sri Shazalli Ramly has been appointed Telekom Malaysia Bhd’s (TM) Group CEO and Managing Director.

Earlier this month the company announced several key changes including former TM marketer Moharmustaqeem Mohammed taking on the CEO role at webe.
