(Marketingmagazine.com.my) - Fox International Channels (FIC) has announced appointing seasoned media and television executive Vineet Puri as new Territory Head of Malaysia. Puri will be moving to Kuala Lumpur from Singapore, where prior to his joining FIC after the buyout of ESPN STAR Sports by 21st Century Fox he was heading the sports network’s Advertising Sales for Southeast Asia.
His new role involves overseeing FIC Malaysia’s P&L, business operations and strategies for driving growth of its advertising sales revenue, while deepening the network’s relationships with its key affiliate partners including Astro, HyppTV and Telekom Malaysia.
Puri commands over 18 years of experience in the media and pay-TV industry across markets such as India, Indonesia and Singapore. He has extensive knowledge of the Malaysian market too, having held leadership roles over the past 9 years during which he managed both local and regional advertising sales, events, content syndication and digital media across factual, entertainment, news and sports categories as part of his Southeast Asia remit.
FIC Managing Director Hong Kong & Southeast Asia Joon Lee said Vineet’s years of experience and his “affable personality” will bring in even more successes for the network in Malaysia.
“Malaysia is a very key market for us and Vineet was a natural choice to lead our business there. He is a well-rounded executive with a talent for developing new business and building relationships as well as a deep understanding of local operations”, Lee said.
Commenting on his appointment, Vineet said: “I am delighted and honored to be taking up the role of leading and growing FIC’s business in Malaysia, an important market for the network. I look forward to working closely with our affiliate and ad sales partners to develop new opportunities to collaborate and ensuring that we continue to be an exceptional partner to them”.
