(marketingmagazine.com.my) – UCSI University (UCSI) awarded Leo Burnett Group Malaysia, as ‘The Most Engaging Co-Op Partner’ for 2016 for its contribution in developing talents and coaching students to be market ready for the workforce.

Maureen Gomez, Head of People and Culture at Leo Burnett Malaysia shared, “This is a testament to our human resource policies and initiatives. We believe in attracting young talent, retaining them and motivating these young individuals to help us achieve our goals and objectives. Building engagements is critical for the growth of an organization.”

UCSI’s Co-Op programme formally integrates classroom learning with workplace training in Co-Op employer organizations. As part of their degree requirements, students enrolled in UCSI programs are required to complete a co-op module comprising two months’ work experience for each year of their degree programme; beginning in Year One right through to the Final Year.

“In these challenging times of economic slowdown and a mismatch in supply and demand, we at Leo Burnett are always thriving to develop new talents and contribute more to the industry. This will ensure that there is a continuous balance between the human capital growth and market demands.” Maureen added.

Daneeta Kiritharan Intern of Leo Burnett Malaysia’s People and Culture department said, “ Being part of the human resources team, has broadened my capabilities of handling and executing tasks, especially catering to the needs of each personnel. It also has opened my eyes to the many facets of interpersonal skills , things that we don’t learn in school.”
