Value investor Aberdeen Asset Management Company has bought a 5% stake in the Star Media Group.
According to a news report in The Star, the company, which has a list of blue-chip stocks which include British American Tobacco and Panasonic Manufacturing Malaysia in its portfolio acquired 36.9 million shares representing the 5% stake.
Star Media Group owns multiple media platforms in Malaysia which includes The Star Newspaper, The Star Online, 988FM radio station and its newly newly-launched video-on-demand service, dimsum.my.
