Berita Harian (BH) celebrates its 55th anniversary on 1st July 2012 by taking the new image according to the readers' preference of all backgrounds.
With the tagline "Merentasi Generasi" or across the Generations, BH changes the look and the editorial content began with the publication of BH Ahad, replacing Berita Minggu.
The new BH is reader-friendly, modern and inclusive, taking into account views of the survey results from different levels of society.
"Merentas Generasi" reflecting the existence of BH that has been together with the people from all walks of life and society since its inception in July 1, 1957. It is also based on the daily experience in the face of significant progress and evolution of printing technology to the era of information technology that produces online newspapers via iPad and e-paper.
To be relevant to the readers, moving forward, BH focus on four main pillars of news coverage - exclusive, community, education and entertainment.
BH revamp involving changes in layout, typography, pagination which is more attractive and easy to read as well as highlighting the fact number, info graphic and interesting information. The new BH is also providing larger size colour photographs.
"The changes in BH made to ensure that the newspaper remains relevant to the readers as we face the realities of changing times" said the BH Group Editor Datuk Mior Kamarul Shahid at the launch of the new BH in Bangsar.
He said, to meet today's readers preference, BH also broaden the dissemination of information in the version of e-paper, tablet, mobile phones and online edition allowing the readers to read the news in a simple, fast and compact way. "The tagline of the marketing campaign is "Satu untuk Semua" or One for All, in all advertising platform to promote BH to TV, radio and outdoor advertising," he said.
