“The ministry is now planning together with Bernama on the measures that can be taken so that its transmission is not interrupted and its basic media services proceed as required,” he told reporters at the Parliament lobby today.
Rais said the takeover of the television station would be carried out according to the agreement made with the private sector which had operated it.
“There is growing criticism against Bernama TV. That’s why the ministry is taking measures according to the existing agreement,” he said. State news agency Bernama owns 33 per cent of the TV station while the rest lies in private hands.
