The Kre8tif! Awards will recognize and shine the spotlight on the most outstanding creative work done by Malaysian individuals, companies and students in 2010. Already, last year’s inaugural Kre8tif! Awards saw the cream of the Malaysian creative industry compete for recognition from their peers across 4 main categories for 22 accolades.

Notable winners from last year’s Kre8tif! Awards include Elemental Venture Sdn. Bhd, winner of the “Best Production” award for their work on Stadium ASTRO’s “Beijing Olympic 2008” campaign; Wasp Studio Sdn. Bhd, winner of the “Best (Overall) Commissioned Work” for the alternate-reality anime series “LaMB”, which is the first Animax original production to be shown in high definition (HD); and Kromosomlab’s “Eicak” animation for the “Best Digital Artwork (Environmental & Layout)”.
This year’s entries will be judged by some of the foremost practitioners of the creative arts from both academic and professional backgrounds in order to determine the winners, including Kamn Ismail, President of the Animation Society of Malaysia, Muid Latif, a renowned local web artist and Bazil Akmal Bidin (Buzz), game application developer, and lecturer at Limkokwing University.

Finalists will be invited to the 2010 Kre8tif! Awards Night, where they will get the chance to meet with top minds of the Malaysian and global creative industry, as they get recognized for their outstanding creative work by their peers.
This December will also see the commencement of the Kre8tif! Digital Content Conference, themed “Back 2 Basix”. This summit will be held from Dec 15-17 at the Putrajaya International Convention Centre and will see participants engage with over 30 creative content experts from Malaysia and abroad, including Zareh Nalbandian, co-founder and CEO of animation studio Animal Logic, which animated the recent Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga’Hoole”; Jason Manley, President of Massive Black Inc., one of the largest artwork, 3D and animation providers for the entertainment industry and also the founder of creative industry resource, Conceptart.org; Alexander Laurant, an art director who has worked on Hollywood blockbusters such as the “Star Wars” franchise, “Saving Private Ryan” and “The Day After Tomorrow”; and Alan Mun-Onn Chan, Technical Director for Sony Pictures and a Malaysian creative industry professional who has managed to break into Hollywood, working on both “Titanic” and “Lord of the Rings” as a special effects director.
