If you told anyone worth his or her salt in PR you knew Michael de Kretser, they’d think you were a star. Michael has made many people famous, and infamous, including the Singapore Girl. A PR veteran with over 30 years experience, he will hold a rare workshop on PR and Communications on Dec 15 in KL.
De Kretser was the founder of the MDK network and today is the CEO of GO Communications. One of his classic PR campaigns was placing a life size figure of a Singapore Airlines flight attendant (or ‘Singapore Girl’) at Madame Tussaud’s Waxworks in London – the first commercial figure to take its place in over 200 years. A feat the International Herald Tribune called ‘a small acknowledgement of the growing commercial force of Asia and the power of PR’.
