Kuala Lumpur (Adoimagazine.com) - Young & Rubicam Malaysia (Y&R) aced the Y&R Global Creative Awards winning the Grand Prix and Gold awards in the print category for Penguin Audio books. The agency also picked up Silver and Bronze awards in the print category for Soroptimists International and Campbell Tomato Soup respectively.
Y&R Global Creative Awards, which celebrates the best work by Y&R offices covering Europe, North America, Latin America, and Asia-Pacific, attracted more than 500 submissions based on cutting-edge creativity and ideation.
Adrian Holmes, Executive Creative Director of Y & R Europe, Middle East, and Africa, led the international judging panel. Holmes is widely acknowledged as one of the advertising industry’s most respected and awarded creative veterans.
Rishya Joseph, Y&R’s Senior Vice President and Regional Director, firmly believes that ideation will inevitably drive brand leadership in the future.
“Marketers must subscribe to the fact that ideation is critical for the survival of brands in today’s competitive economy,” says Joseph. “Creativity that transcends all media will be the single arbiter for future work.”
Jasmine Ishaque, Y&R Malaysia’s Creative Group Head, notes that the creative ascendancy in Malaysia has seen local agencies winning more international awards in recent years.
Y&R’s Grand Prix win, says Joseph, is evidence that Malaysia is stamping its mark in the global arena.
Y&R Malaysia was the recipient of the Golden Kancil at the Kancil Awards in 2006. Y&R Malaysia was also awarded Creative Agency of the Year at Y&R Asia’s APEX Advertising Awards.
