While last week we spoke about U Mobile’s Christmas ad that did not go as planned, this week we are looking at some of the new Christmas ads that are generating buzz online.

1) Digi shares the laughter

In its latest ad released on Tuesday, the telco featured a cute little girl who hatched up an interesting plan to inject the holiday spirit among her family members.

The ad was crafted by Naga DDB. Speaking to MARKETING on the concept behind the ad the agency’s Executive Creative Director Alvin Teoh shared,

“Sometimes we get caught up with the ‘what’ of Christmas and forget the ‘why’. We get caught up with the stress of buying stuff and decorations and getting all worked up because there’s is much to do but Christmas is about family, about being with one another, celebrating relationships, being joy-filled and thankful and these things doesn’t cost a cent.”

The ad Alvin added had a universal theme which related not only to those celebrating the holidays but to everyone watching it.

“We’re just reminding people that the best gift is ourselves, our laughter, and our joy. It’s our presence, not the presents that matter the most. Digi believes in reminding people about what really matters and wants to be that catalyst for the human connection and bond to happen,”

“I hope people will see a bit of themselves in this film and take time off to reflect on the simple message of laughter and joy. That’s Christmas.”

The ad has so far received over 142,000 views on Facebook.

2) INTI highlights the gift of family

INTI International University & Colleges recently released a Christmas video which showcased how in our pursuit of material things we sometimes lose sight of the most important gift we already have- Family. In a release, INTI shared that the video has already gained over 8,400 views and more than 150 shares on Facebook since its release on Tuesday night.

“As we grow up, many of us lose that child-like innocence and enthusiasm about celebrating Christmas. We tend to concentrate more on worldly material and presents, forgetting that family; will always be the best present you can wish for,”

“So we decided to work together with former students of INTI as well as upcoming You-Tubers, Jeevan Sekar and Caleb Lim of The Salad Show to create a short film that will be able to share that important message across,” Timothy Johnson, Senior Vice President of Marketing, Products & Partnerships at INTI International University & Colleges shared.

3) Mah Sing Group shows presence is nicer than presents

“Presents is nice but presence is nicer”

Bringing to life the gifts underneath the Christmas tree, developer Mah Sing Group released a Christmas ad which really tugs the heartstrings. Released a week ago the video which features a little girl’s stuffed toy coming to life has gotten over 158,000 views on Facebook.

Merry Christmas from all of us at MARKETING!
