Media Specialists Association of Malaysia gets new leadership yet again.

(marketingmagazine.com.my) – If there was a record for the changing of the guard, the Media Specialists Association (MSA) would surely be in the running: they have seen four leaders in a space of 5 months.

At yesterday’s AGM, Yap Chee Weng, CEO of Dentsu Media Malaysia and Sivanathan Krishnan,
CEO of Trapper Media Group were voted in as President and Vice President respectively.

Earlier this year, Girish Menon, CEO of GroupM Malaysia, stepped down in a swift switch after
serving admirably for almost two terms as President. His position was immediately filled by Bala Pomaleh who was CEO of Carat Media Malaysia then, as Acting President. Shortly after that, Bala left
Carat and went on to become CEO of IPG Mediabrands after a healthy bout of gardening leave.

Then in another quick move, Andreas Vogiatzakis who was CEO of OMG Malaysia at that point
was led into the President’s seat only to be replaced after three months yesterday as he is moving to join Havas Media Malaysia as their Group CEO in the middle of next month.

Unfortunately, his move disqualified him to be in the running as Havas Media is not a full MSA member yet.

So at yesterday’s AGM a sense of stability was slowly emerging as both the Presidents appear to be firmly entrenched in their companies; of course Siva is going nowhere as he is the owner of Trapper Media Group.

Let’s see what happens next….because they have their work cut out as the first item on the agenda prioritises a solution to the dual television measurement system which has got quite a few knickers in a twist.

Our congratulations to the new team as the media industry is in a state of flux.
